Resources for Families During COVID-19 Pandemic

SUPPLIES

  • 211: Call 211 anywhere in Shasta County to access assistance with shelter, clothing, food, etc. 
    • Text CORONAVIRUS to 211211 for more information about COVID-19. Many agencies and businesses have reduced or changed hours due to COVID -19 concerns.
  • FOOD BANKS
    • Shasta Lake Community Pantry, located at 1501 McConnell Ave., Shasta Lake
      • Open the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 9:00 AM
      • Open (for seniors only) Monday mornings at 9:00 AM 
    • Dignity Health Emergency Food Program (Families may receive a 3-day supply of food based on family size. Families are helped on an emergency basis and may receive this assistance once a month. 
      • Distributions are held the first and third Friday of the month from 8-9 a.m. only at the Food Bank located within the main facility at 100 Mercy Oaks Drive in Redding.)

MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES

  • Shasta County Mental Health (530) 225-5252
    • To start non-emergency counseling services for your child, call (530) 225-6888 to speak to the Youth Access Team.
    • Mental Health will accept walk-ins if youth is actively seeking to harm self or others. Address: 1560 Market St., Redding
  • Hill Country CARE Center (530) 691-4446 Located at 1401 Gold St., Redding
  • One Safe Place:  www.ospshasta.org  or call (530) 244-0118 
    • Provides legal services, safety, and emotional  support to intimate partners, children, and seniors affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.  
  • Crisis Text Line: https://www.crisistextline.org/, Text ‘Home’ to 741741 from anywhere in the USA to text with a trained Crisis Counselor.
  • In case of emergency, please call 911 or present to the nearest emergency room for further assistance.
