This initiative is aimed at improving student engagement, providing personalized student learning, and allowing equitable access to technology for all students within the District. Read more...

Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF)
Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)

California’s 2013-14 Budget Act included landmark legislation that greatly simplifies the state’s school finance system. The changes introduced by the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) represent a major shift in how California funds Local Educational Agencies (LEAs).

A Message from the Principal

Spring is just around the corner and things are heating up here at Grand Oaks. February was a fun filled month with many exciting events. The parent club hosted an evening that saw fathers and daughters dance the night away. It included music, treats and complimentary photos. The gym was full of exciting young girls dancing to the beat of the music. Central Valley High School was host to the Multicultural Event on Saturday February 22nd. It was an amazing event that included foods from a variety of cultures, performances that included singing and dancing, and a variety of informational booths that introduced many of the cultures we celebrate as a community. For those who got a chance to see the event, it is one to be remembered.  Dr. Seuss night was an exciting family event that celebrated reading and had every student walk away with one or more books.

March promises to be another month filled with opportunity. The county Spelling Bee will include the two champion spellers from Grand Oaks who were selected on February 21st. On March 20th Grand Oaks will host our Principal for a Day. We are excited to have Shasta Lake City Program Manager Jessica Lugo as a guest on our campus to showcase our great school. Future kindergartners will be joining us at Grand Oaks on March 21st for our annual Kindergarten Round Up. These preschoolers along with their parents will get to see what a day in kindergarten will be like. Public Schools Week will be showcasing the highlights of the Gateway School District. Head on over to the Shasta Mall to see student work presented by our students. It will run from March 31st through April 6th.

Safety, Visitor Policy & Student Info Changes

Campus Safety/Campus Visitors
School safety is a big concern for us here at Grand Oaks. ALL parents and volunteers must sign in at the office and receive a visitor's pass. IT IS THE LAW!!!
Remember to check with the office when you want to take your child out of school during school hours.
This is for the safety of all our students.
For safety, we appreciate you waiting at the gates after school when picking up your child. Sometimes teachers do not see you pick up your child when you are waiting by the classroom.
Please send a note with your child in the morning if he/she needs to be released during the school day for a scheduled appointment. This will help the teacher know ahead of time and will be less disruptive to the class. It is imperative that everyone who comes onto our campus stop by the office and sign in and receive a visitor's pass. Please do not head to your child's classroom with out checking in.
The southwest gate will be locked from 8:05am until 2:00pm. This is to help us ensure that each child or visitor checks in and out during instructional hours. You will need to enter the campus through the double doors next to the gym/cafeteria.
Please remember there is NO SUPERVISION before 7:15am in the morning.
For your child's safety, DO NOT allow your child to be at school prior to that time. Students cannot get into the classrooms that early and they have no where to wait except on the playground, which may still be dark at that hour.
Thank you for your help in keeping our campus safe.

Please notify the school office as soon as possible if you have a change in phone numbers, contact persons, or an address change.
The school needs to have updated information in the event of an emergency.  It can be very frightening for a child to be hurt or sick and we cannot contact you.
You can phone the school office at 275-7040 at any time.  If no one answers, please leave a message and we will immediately update your information.  Thank you for your help in keeping our records updated.
